In the last month, the world has been facing a challenging context with the COVID-19 pandemic, having to reorganize not only its priorities but also reinvent our daily lives. For the Rural Youth Innovation Award in Latin America and the Caribbean, the situation is no different.
In this uncertain scenario, we had to readjust our activities – that involved the beginning of face-to-face events in June 2020. For our team, it is essential to continue the project in a safe manner and to ensure Latin-American and Caribbean youth effective and meaningful participation, allowing everyone to enjoy of the Award’s benefits and goals.
As shown in the figure below, among the changes is the disclosure of the winning initiatives, which will now take place in early July 2020 and will be carried out entirely online. Subsequently, our face-to-face events will begin by the end of August, providing information and knowledge sharing among the Award winners.
Upon these changes, we hope to reinforce our commitment to rural youth. Since the beginning of registrations, it has been gratifying to see the enthusiasm of young people towards rural development and to be able to contribute with your actions. We hope you continue to explore new ideas and support local development!
We wish you luck in the next stages and, if you have any questions, we are available at firstname.lastname@example.org or on our social media. In the meantime, we hope everyone is safe.
