The Award will consider the following Evaluation Criteria:
Development and implementation of a significant change in the way the organization performs its functions or delivers its services or products to its clients or the creation/improvement of services/products provided that produce positive results to its client and the society. They may involve changes in services, processes and / or products.
Potential of the initiative to be scaled up, replicated or to inspire other rural communities in other LAC countries. Special emphasis will be given to initiatives that have potential to be adopted by development partners and the private sector, particularly in challenging environments. As such, solutions that are community-based and do not require internet connection nor complex support services will be recognized for their high scale-up and acceptance potential.
Technical capacity, experience and knowledge necessary for technology development, leadership, entrepreneurship, proactivity, among others.
Initiatives led by young people or group of young people living in rural areas of LAC countries will have 5 (five) extra points in the assessment.
Refers to the improvement achieved by the innovation that seeks to solve/reduce the problem situation. The improvement can be either in the organizational processes (productivity, quality and efficiency), in service providing methods (satisfaction of the service, benefits generated to users) or in the evaluation or management of a product or service (environmental or social impacts).
Characteristics that promote the empowerment or social inclusion of vulnerable and historically excluded group, such as afro descendant, indigenous, LGBTI+ and dam affected people, refugees, people leaving with HIV/AIDS and, especially, women.
The business model is the strategy behind the product/service. It defines not only the product/service (what), but also the how and for whom this product/service is delivered. The Value Proposition is part of the business model. It creates value for a Customer segment with a combination of elements specifically targeted to the needs of that segment. It is the differential of your product/service.
Data and information that demonstrate knowledge about the market in which the initiative is inserted (main characteristics of the market, size, needs, entry barriers, legislation, direct and indirect competitors).
Youth initiatives or groups of young people who have the majority of their participants between 18 and 25 years old will have 5 (five) extra points in the evaluation.
